Growney Brothers Rodeo Company pride themselves with the over 100 bucking horses that make up their herd. Their horses have been chosen to buck at the National Finals Rodeo consistently for over thirty years.
When Growney got started in the rodeo business he purchased the stock necessary to produce rodeos sometimes from other contractors and sometimes from ranchers who ended up with a horse to rank to tame. Over the years he developed a selective breeding program crossing the proven mares with the best stallions which has yielded some of the best bucking horses in the industry.
In 2000 John hired Tim Bridwell to work on the ranch and help with the rodeo business. Tim was ranch raised in MacArthur, California, He was the 1994 High School Rodeo Champion and the next year he was awarded the Rookie of the Year buckle by the California Pro Rodeo Association. He rode on the pro circut from 1996 until 2000. His knowledge of the horses proved invaluable and in 2005 Tim took over the bucking horse side of Growney Brothers Rodeo Company.
